20 artists showcase 120 artworks to mark 37th anniversary at Waterlily Art Space, Yangon

A total of 20 artists staged a group show from 3 to 5 December to mark the 37th anniversary of the artistic journey displaying a variety of artistic styles and mediums at the Waterlily Art Space in downtown Yangon.
The December Morning Exhibition has been held annually since 1987 to celebrate the unique mood, colours and vitality of the final month of the calendar.
In the foreword of the exhibition card, the artists have described the show stating that “For its 37th year, the exhibition has been relayed to us. For the next generation, it is to keep this artistic journey alive.”
Artist Ko Maung Kyaw Than, a 67-year-old well-known artist of Myanmar said that this exhibition has brought the memories of our past days with my late art masters because they created spaces for us by holding this kind of exhibition to showcase our artworks.”
“This exhibition has reflected that the generation of our age has handed over this artistic journey to the next generation,” he said.
The exhibition displayed about 120 artworks of different mediums and perspectives.
The Waterlily Art Space is located at No 170, First Floor, Room No 40, Sule Tower 2, Sule Pagoda Road. —GNLM
