2023-2024 Inter-State/Region Wushu competition opens

SAC members, Union ministers and dignitaries watch the opening match of the 2023-2024 Inter-State and Region Wushu competition yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

The opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 Inter-State/Region Wushu competition was held at Wunna Theikdhi Gymnasium B in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, with the aim of bringing out the new generation of Wushu athletes across the country.
Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, who is also chairperson of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, opened the competition by saying that he wants the athletes who will compete in this competition to bring out their abilities and compete to the best of their ability and to follow the specified competition rules and try to become good athletes of the country that the State relies on. Afterwards, the Wushu athletes recited the oath of allegiance.
Next, the State Administration Council members, Union ministers and officials warmly greeted the athletes from the participating sports teams and watched the competition.
The championship will be held from 7 to 11 March at Wunna Theikdhi Gymnasium B, and anyone interested in Wushu can come and watch for free. — MNA/KZL
