31st SEA Games’ detail facts to be set this month

Authorities and organizers will decide whether the XXXI South East Asian Games (SEA Games) will be held this year or otherwise, said the source with the ASEAN Football Federation.
The detailed facts and figures will be known within two weeks, said the SEA Games authorities. “This was the decision that was reached following a virtual meeting between all member countries with the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam 2021 SEA Games asking for another two weeks for the final decision. The next meeting where the final decision will be announced will be on 8 July 2021.
Earlier this month, eight of the 11 SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) countries objected to the Vietnam 2021 SEA Games Organizing Committee’s proposal to postpone the Games to next year following an increase in COVID-19 cases,” SEA Games officials said.
The 2021 Southeast Asian Games commonly known as the XXXI SEA Games, was originally scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 21 November to 2 December 2021, but the final decision will be set this month.
The tourney will feature around 40 kinds of sport, mainly those played at the Olympic Games.—GNLM
