36.82 tonnes of restricted chemicals seized in Mohnyin Township

The Myanmar Police Force has reported the seizure of 36.82 tonnes of restricted chemical (ammonium nitrate) in Mohnyin Township of Kachin State.
Following a tip-off, a combined team, comprising members of the security forces, intercepted and searched three motorbikes and three Yangfong vehicles travelling through the forest road in Nantyin village in Mohnyin Township at 7.30 am on 29 March.
Police arrested nine men, including Win Zaw, Htet Wai Moe, and Zaw Lin Htun, with 36.82 tonnes of restricted chemical (ammonium nitrate).
Legal action has been initiated against the offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the case. — MNA/MKKS
