4th meeting of task force on humanitarian aid management for 2nd phase of ASEAN humanitarian assistance through AHA centre held

The fourth coordination meeting of the Task Force on Humanitarian Aid Management took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate the process and preparations for the second phase of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance provided through the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management-AHA Centre, yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Task Force Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing, Member of the Task Force Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Aung Tun Khaing, secretaries and members of the Task Force.
At the meeting, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing said the first phase of the ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance provided through the AHA centre will be completed soon, and he called on members must be done in all Task Force members to coordinate in policy-making on receiving ASEAN donations for Phase 2, for safe and convenient access to supplies those who dire need them and to receive materials that meet the needs of the country.
The deputy minister and attendees discussed the coordination status with the ASEAN Secretariat and the AHA centre, the completion status of the first phase of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance, plan prepared by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement for the second phase, and coordination issues for the distribution of aid. — MNA
