The Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs said, at the closing ceremony of the summer swimming course held on 29 March, that swimming is scheduled to be included in the 5th National Sports Festival, planned to take place from 9 to 20 December this year.
The festival includes six sports at the ministry level and twenty-three kinds of sports at the state and regional levels.
Coordination meetings are being conducted with respective departments to facilitate performance rehearsals by artistes, cultural troupes, and sports federations in preparation for the grand celebration of the 5th National Sports Festival. — TWA/TRKM
