70th Kayah State Day celebration in Loikaw

The 70th Kayah State Day ceremony was convened at the state hall in Loikaw yesterday.
The event was attended by State Administration Council Members Saw Daniel and U Shwe Kyein, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Maung Maung Ohn and U Saw Tun Aung Myint, the Kayah State chief minister and the commander of Eastern Command, departmental officials and local ethnic people among others.
Then, the leaders of nine different ethnic groups of Kayah took their positions and the participants saluted the State Flag, fallen leaders and soldiers.
First, SAC member Saw Daniel read out the 70th Kayah State Day Message sent by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the Kayah State chief minister made the speech.
Kayah State Chief Minister U Khin Maung Oo then presented the first award for Excellence in Management to one state government secretary, another first award for excellence in social activities to Loikaw Development Affairs Committee chairman, the second award for excellence in management to two, the third award to one and third award for excellence in peace, security and the rule of law activities to three recipients out of 53 who received good civil service awards in management, social, security and the rule of law sectors of Kayah State.
Afterwards, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn donated 1,000 DVB-T2 Set Top Box for military outfits and government employees. Commander of Eastern Command Brig-Gen Ni Lin Aung received the donations on behalf of military outfits and state IPRD head Daw Soe Soe Tun on behalf of government employees.
Then, the SAC members, Union ministers, the state chief minister and leaders of nine Kayah ethnic groups took commemorative photos. Next, officials cordially greeted the local ethnic people.
Of 53 who received honorary titles, eight were presented their honorary titles and certificates during the 70th Anniversary of Kayah State Day, and the remaining award winners will be formally awarded. — MNA
