77th Shan State Day celebrated in Taunggyi

The 77th Shan State Day was celebrated at the Awayya hot-air balloon field in Taunggyi Township, Shan State, yesterday morning. The celebration was attended by members of the State Administration Council (SAC) Dr Ba Shwe and Khun San Lwin, Union Ministers U Min Thein Zan, Dr Soe Win, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, deputy ministers, Shan State government ministers, guests, ethnic cultural troupes, and locals.
During the celebration, SAC member Khun San Lwin read the message from SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing for the 77th Shan State Day. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung then delivered a speech.
Following the speeches, the 77th Shan State Day exhibition was inaugurated by SAC members Dr Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, Union Ministers U Min Thein Zan, Dr Soe Win, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung. Guests had the opportunity to explore exhibition booths displaying traditional ethnic cuisines, departmental booths, and MSME booths.
Later, a ceremony was held at City Hall to award certificates of honour. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung delivered the opening speech. The awards included outstanding awards for management (second class and third class) presented by SAC member Dr Ba Shwe, an outstanding award for security and rule of law (first class) by SAC member Khun San Lwin, and awards for agriculture, livestock farming, social activities, and sports presented by Shan State ministers, the Shan State Advocate-General, and the secretary of the Shan State Government.Additionally, winners of the 2023 Tazaungdaing Festival photography competition were honoured during the ceremony. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Shan State ministers, and other officials awarded prizes to the winners, while Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan provided sports equipment for Shan State, which Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung received. — MNA/ TMT
