Maha Pathana recitation ceremony held at Upatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw

The Maha Pathana recitation ceremony will take place from 22 to 26 April.

The opening ceremony of the 129th Maha Pathana recitation was held at Upatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning
The Ovada Cariya of pagoda Presiding Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Monastery Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda, Deputy Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command Colonel Kyaw Soe Oo, Director-General for Religious Affairs Department U Myint Oo and members of Pagoda Board of Trustees attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was opened by reciting Namo Tassa three times. The attendees took five precepts from Pauk Myaing Sayadaw Bhaddanta Janinda. Then the officials donated the Pathana books and Paritta water-pots to the monks.
The Sayadaws recited Pathana three times, and the ceremony ended with a three-time recitation of Buddha Sasanam Ciram Thitthatu. Next, the officials offered alms to the Sayadaws.
