Thilawa SEZ Management Committee receives Russian business delegation

The officials of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone Management Committee received the business delegation of the Russian Federation at the zone in Yangon yesterday.
Chairman of the committee U Yan Naing Tun discussed the sector-wise cooperation between Russia and Myanmar, government efforts in creating business opportunities and investment opportunities and potential investments between the two countries.
Then, Development Director Mr Marat Amirovich of RKS-NR CCL under the Russian Ministry of Construction appreciated the welcome and openly discussed G-to-G cooperation projects, bilateral relations and enhancement of investment.
Twenty-one countries made investments in Thilawa SEZ, with an investment amount of US$2,124 million.
The Thilawa SEZ manages the export and import-substitute manufacturing processes, commodities, construction materials, and vehicles, among others.
The Thilawa SEZ Management Committee also makes efforts to operate import-substitute manufacturing processes by cooperating with local MSMEs and developing the MSMEs and local job opportunities. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/KTZH
