Preliminary draft, regulations regarding inclusion of MraukU cultural heritage site in UNESCO list revealed

An explicit initial draft, rules and regulations in seeking the inclusion of MraukU Cultural Heritage Site on the UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list were unveiled at the meeting hall of MraukU District General Administration Department on 22 May in order to call for suggestions from the district-level departments concerned.
At the meeting, Chairman U Kaung Myat Naing of MraukU District Administration Body gave an opening remark. Afterwards, U Soe Soe Lin, director of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (MraukU branch), elaborated the intangible cultural heritage and old monuments, including long walls and city moat, jetties, shipyard, dam, floodgates, fort, barn, city gates, Buddhist temples and Buddha statues, Pitakat chamber (library of Buddhist Scriptures) and votive tablets in MraukU.
Later, deputy director Daw Yin San Nwe from the MraukU branch also explained drafting the rules and regulations for constructing the buildings located in the MraukU cultural heritage site. The officials from the related departments also commented on legislations.
