Imports of anti-COVID-19 devices, medical equipment continue

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
On 5 September (Yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products including oxygen plants and concentrators were imported by 10 companies with the use of 18 vehicles, including two bowsers.
Two bowsers carried a total of 40 tonnes of liquid oxygen, and three tonnes of liquid oxygen cylinders, 720 empty oxygen cylinders, two oxygen plants, two oxygen generators, 1,700 oxygen concentrators for home use, 2,000 sets of PPE suits, and 26 tonnes of masks were imported via Chinshwehaw, Myawady, Tachilek and Hteekhee trading posts and the Yangon International Airport.
Two vehicles carrying liquid oxygen and two oxygen plants were transported to Yangon, officials said.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importations of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
