According to U Myo Aung, region director of the Magway Region Rural Development Department, the projects were carried out by the villagers themselves under the close technical support of the Department of Rural Development.
“Our department started the village development project with the technical assistance of LIFT Fund. From this project, the villagers were able to draw up their own action plans based on the specific needs of the village,” he said.
“The department started with K10 million for the priority project. The rest of the projects are linked to the development plans of township-level departments and other development partners so the village development activities can be easily carried out,” he added.
