COVID-19 vaccine drive continues in various states, regions

Doctors and nurses from public hospitals, Tatmadaw medical teams, healthcare workers and volunteers are working hard to administer COVID-19 vaccines in different states and regions as the vaccination programme is one of the most important activities in the prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 disease.
COVID-19 vaccine is being given daily to target groups regardless of race or religion, including Buddhist monks and nuns, local people over the age of 40, students, religious leaders, prisoners, people with disabilities, ethnic armed groups, people with chronic diseases, people in IDP camps and over 12-year-old students, respectively.
On 1 February and yesterday, doctors and nurses from public hospitals, medical teams from the Tatmadaw, relevant healthcare workers in collaboration with volunteers gave COVID-19 vaccines to 2,014 people from six townships in Northern Shan State, 382 people from Mongpyin and Kengtung townships in Eastern Shan State, 2,079 people from seven districts in Mon and Kayin states, 232 people from Tamway Township, Yangon Region, 15,680 from 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region and 5,244 people from four townships in Rakhine State, respectively.
Similarly, healthcare officials administered the vaccines to 744 students from Namkham and Muse townships in northern Shan State, and 165 students from 26 townships in Ayeyawady Region, on 1 February and yesterday.
It is reported that officials from the respective Military Commands visited the site and coordinated the necessary work. —MNA
