The chrysanthemum flowers in Peinnegon village are mostly grown for income generation for the families. The flowers started growing in August. After growing for 90 days, they are ready to harvest and sell it in the market, according to chrysanthemum growers.
Those chrysanthemum seeds are bought at the seed shops in Mawlamyine and replanted with the sowing of the seed. Now, the growers are earning a regular income by growing them. Now, some are growing the chrysanthemum plantations on a trial basis and their farmlands have met with success, said Daw Chit Su, a commercial grower of chrysanthemum plants.
The most important thing in growing flowers is to water them a lot. For the growth of plants, the plants need to be sprayed with fertilizer. At present, the weather is so hot that the flowers can be damaged within a short period. So, the growers need to water once in the morning and once in the evening.
