Presiding Nayaka of Ponnya Neinmitayama Shwethuwun Monastery in Kyeepwaryay Ward in Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Bhaddanta Saddhiya passed away at 1:40 am on 21 May 2022 (Saturday).
The remains of the Sayadaw are being kept at Ponnya Neinmitayama Shwethuwun Monastery. Yesterday morning, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party paid homage to the remains of the Sayadaw and made cash donation.
The Vice-Senior General and party paid homage to Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Final Rites Organizing Committee, supplicated plans to hold the final rites and fulfilled the needs.—MNA
