SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party offer certificates, titles to members of the Sangha who passed the Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection exam

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party take five Precept from members of the Sangha at Certificate and Title offering for recipient members of the Sangha who passed Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Exam on 22 May 2022.

A ceremony to honour 20 members of the Sangha who passed the 74th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection examination organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture was held in conjunction with the certificate presentation ceremony at Maha Pasana Cave on Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yesterday morning.
First, Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa gave Saraniya Ovadakatha.
On the occasion, the Chairman Sayadaw urged members of the Sangha who passed the examination to continue continuous efforts for strengthening and flourishing of the Buddha Sasana. The Sayadaw called on laypersons to support the Buddhism. Both monks and disciples are to join hands in ensuring long term existence of the Buddhism, he added.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko supplicated religious affairs.
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win offered Mula Abhidhammakovida title and certificate to Ashin Manita, who has passed the two and a half Pitaka treatises, of Tipitaka Maha Gandawin Nikaya Monastery in Dagon Myothit (East) Township of Yangon Region. SAC member Dr Banyar Aung Moe also offered title of Dighanikayakovida and certificate to Ashin Acaralankara who has passed the two Pitaka treatises, from the same monastery.
Union Ministers U Maung Maung Ohn, U Ko Ko and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Soe Thein, Lt-Gen Thet Pon of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and officials offered titles of Vinayakovida and certificates to seven members of the Sangha for passing the one Pitaka treatise and titles of Ubhatovibhangakovida and certificates to 11 members of the Sangha for passing the first portion of Vinaya.
Vice Chairman of the Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of Thiho Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre in Kyaukme of Shan State (North) Agga Maha Pandita Dr Bhaddanta Canandasara delivered a sermon, and congregation shared merits gained. They then offered alms to members of the Sangha who passed the examination.
Until the 74th examination, 15 Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title recipient Sayadaws and six Tipitakadhara Sayadaws have emerged during the 74 years period for serving the religious duties.—MNA
