The Forest Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation adopts the community monitoring and reporting system (CMRS) to curb illegal timbers and forest products.
According to the data collected between 20 and 26 June, the department seized a total of 72.4820 tonnes of illegal timbers — 32.4206 tonnes of teak, 11.8900 tonnes of hardwood and 28.1714 tonnes of others in regions/states and Nay Pyi Taw and arrested 30 suspects with 15 vehicles, the department stated. — Maung Thit Taw
