Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said during a seminar on labour dispute settlement held on 26 September that 243 labour disputes have been resolved in Yangon Region and compensations have been issued to 833 workers.
Labour disputes are handled in factories in 44 townships except for Cocogyun Township by the Township Level Mediation Board under the Settlement of Labour Dispute Law. The arbitration panel and the arbitration council are working to settle the disputes step by step.

“Decisions need to be made for the benefit of both employers and employees,” Union Minister Dr Pwint San said at the Ministry of Labour.
The chief minister of Yangon Region said that mediation teams in 44 townships have resolved 243 disputes, and 833 workers have been paid their compensations of K1,027.19 million. — TWA/GNLM
