Drugs impounded in some townships

A combined team consisting of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a motorcycle driven by Aung Win accompanied by Ei Ei Nyein at the Malwetaung checkpoint near Ahlelsakhan village, Logthine village-tract in Yepyu Township on 6 November. The inspection team found 5,265 stimulant tablets from them.
Similarly, officials searched a Hyundai Grand Starex vehicle driven by Khant Htet Aung (aka) Moe Ko at the Mayanchaung checkpoint, Mayanchaung village-tract in Kyaikto Township on 5 November. A total of 30,000 stimulant tablets were found in his possession.
Moreover, officials searched suspicious persons U Oo Than and Kyaw Thein Tun on Tawwin street, ward 4 in Mayangon Township on 6 November. They found 110,000 stimulant tablets in them.
Officials searched two vehicles at Kaunghmutone ward in Muse Township on 5 November.  They found one kilogramme of ketamine, a 9 mm Glock pistol with its magazine and nine rounds, two M22 type-81 assault rifles, including six magazines and 120 rounds, and two grenades from a Toyota Alphard car.
Then, officials searched a motorcycle driven by Sai Aik Lu on the Hsipaw-Mandalay highway near Pannyu village, Panmate village-tract in Hsipaw Township on 6 November. They found 5,000 stimulant tablets in him.
They were prosecuted under the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Law. — MNA
