Over K280 mln worth of heroin seized in Tachilek

Heroin blocks worth over K280 million were confiscated in Tachilek Township in Shan State (East), according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force stopped and searched a motorcycle driven by Sai Sot (aka) Sai Kyaw accompanied by Sai Sai (aka) Aik Kyaing (aka) Sia Phon near Wantone village, Tachilek Township in eastern Shan State. A total of 54 blocks of heroin weighing 18.9 kilogrammes and estimated to be worth K283.5 million were found in the paper box on the motorcycle.
According to interrogation results, heroin blocks are transported from Tachilek Township to the Myanmar-Laos border. Legal action is taken against two of them, and the police force is trying to expose those connected with the two. — MNA
