2022 ASEAN-ICT Forum on Child Online Protection held in Cambodia

The 2022 ASEAN-ICT Forum on Child Online Protection was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 2 and 3 November.
Deputy Director-General Daw Khin May Nu of the Department of Social Welfare and a representative, representatives from the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD) and the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC), officials from UNICEF East Asia and the Pacific Regional Office, experts from universities, IT professionals in the region and the world and officials from technology companies attended the forum in person and online.
They discussed experiences of child online protection, child protection standards and plans, policies and procedures regarding Child Online Protection.
The 2022 ASEAN-ICT Forum on Child Online Protection provided them with an opportunity to learn about the negative effects of children’s internet use, as well as protection programmes. By using the internet, they will receive benefits such as being able to protect children from abuse. — MNA
