Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia join hands to celebrate New Year Thingyan Festival in Kuwait

Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia held a joint New Year Thingyan festival with teeming crowds at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait on 18 April, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was co-hosted by the embassies of these four countries in Kuwait.

The festival featured group dances by Myanmar nationals in Kuwait, traditional Thai dance and Muay Thai letwei demonstration by Thais, and video clips of the great event held jointly by four nations in English.

The Myanmar Embassy in Kuwait entertained the guests attending to Maha Thingyan festival  with traditional Shan noodles and sago with sweet potato while Thai, Laos and Cambodian embassies also provided their respective traditional foods.

This four-country festival was attended by Mr. Khalid Jassim Al-Yassin, Second Deputy Minister, Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Ambassadors from ASEAN countries, chargés d’affaires, diplomats, Myanmar community in Kuwait and invited guests.
