Industrial training courses opened to ensure efficiency and productivity

Mechanical Training Centre (Yangon) of Mechanical Division-1 under the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management is offering irrigation and mechanical technology development courses to keep maintaining the industrial machinery that is the main component of building government infrastructure, improve the efficiency, productivity and functionality to operate them at full capacity in line with the standards.
The training centre is offering engineering courses, special refresher courses, workshops, disseminating foreign technologies and experiences and multiplier courses.
U Win Htut, director of the centre said, “Seventy per cent of Myanmar’s population are rural people who are engaged in agriculture. That being so, efforts are being made to ensure water supply for rural communities. The dam and reservoir are crucial for agriculture. Producing mechanics and driving machinery force is required for efficiency in utilizing the machinery to construct dams. This way, it will run at full capacity to meet the need. We are also providing courses to improve the capacity of the staff including internal staff and related department officials to keep abreast with the developments of the age.
Six-week courses are being offered with 40-60 trainees in one batch. It primarily conducts mechanical great 4 & 3 courses for mechanics and machinery driving great 4 & 3 courses for operators. Additionally, there are theoretical and practical approaches in electric welding great 4& 3 courses, mechanic and machinery operator management courses, supervisor training courses, and capacity development training programs for the staff.  The centre has been open since the 1974-1975 financial year, producing 12,213 trainees from 253 batches.
Moreover, the assessment centres for excavator driving levels 1 & 2 were opened by linking with the National Skills Standards Authority and produced 271 skilled operators. Also, 41 skilled workers were produced by the assessment centre for metal casting great 1 and 2.
The centre is offering courses with a view to producing skilled mechanics and machinery drivers, developing the capacity of the staff with continuous training, keeping up with advanced technology and identifying promotable employees with skill tests.
