Fly Eagle won the 2022 Myanmar Hockey Federation National Hockey Tournament final at the Thein Pyu Hockey Stadium in Yangon yesterday evening. Six teams competed in the tournament, playing in a round-robin format, and the two teams with the most points played in the finals.
After the group matches, the Smart team won four games, and one draw out of five games, garnering 13 points and winning first place in the group while the Fly Eagle team won three games, and two draws in five games, finishing second in the group with 11 points. Both teams reached the Final with the most points. In the final, the Fly Eagle team and the Smart team played a competitive game, and the Fly Eagle team won by 4-3.
After the final, an awarding ceremony was held and officials presented cash prizes plus individual awards to the second-runners-up Tong Tah Team, first-runners-up Smart Team and Champion Team Fly Eagle.
Kyaw Moe Naing (Fly Eagle Team) got the best goalie award, Ko Wai (Smart Team) garnered the best defender award, Thet Ko Ko (Tong Tah Team) earned the midfielder award, and Zaw Lin Aung (Fly Eagle Team) the forward award. The best player award goes to Nyein Chan Aung (Smart Team). — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
