Myanmar nationals are pictured waiting to receive their renewed passports at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand.

According to the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, the renewal process of PJ (Passport for Job) passports of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand will be conducted by a mobile team.
It is reported that the mobile team from the embassy will be divided into two groups and take turns going to factories with a workforce of 1,000 or more who had to renew their passports.
Therefore, factories and workshops must compile a list of workers whose passports will expire in 2022/2023 according to the prescribed format, and send it to Daw Khin Malar Win, the officer in charge of the consulate, by 20 January at the latest.
Officials of factories and workshops who submitted the list will be summoned to the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok on 23 January, to draw lots for setting the date under the rotating system. In addition, the passport renewal process for factories with less than 1,000 workers will be held on a rotating basis at the embassy. The passport renewal process for Myanmar migrant workers who hold PJ is carried out at the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok and the consulate-general office in Chiang Mai.
There are seven types of passports issued for Myanmar citizens — passport for visit–PV, passport for business–PB, passport for education–PE, passport for job–PJ, passport for religious–PR and passport for seaman–PS. It is reported that most of the Myanmar nationals in Thailand are holding PV, PJ and PE passports. — TWA/CT
