DPM MoPF Union Minister attends coord meeting on tax collection

Deputy Prime Minister U Win Shein chairs the coordination meeting on tax collection yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein attended the coordination meeting on the rightful collection of taxes for the State at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by Union Ministers Dr Kan Zaw, U Min Naung, U Thaung Han, U Aung Naing Oo, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, deputy ministers and heads of respective ministries and departments.
At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that, regarding the third quarterly report (2022-2023 financial year) of the State’s revenue accounts, the State Administration Council Chairman has instructed that the respective ministries must coordinate with one another to be able to correctly collect revenues due to the State, that some ministries can collect revenues more than the target and some cannot meet the target.
Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the ministries which are unable to meet the target to scrutinize and identify the reasons for the decrease in revenues, to address weaknesses and to make efforts to ensure that taxes are properly and fully collected in the financial year 2023-2024.
Then, the Union ministers, the deputy ministers and the heads of relevant departments discussed the issues of collecting taxes to meet the targets and effective spending of expenditure. — MNA//MKKS
