Two Myanmar clubs have opportunity to compete in AFC Cup

Two Myanmar domestic football clubs is slated to compete in the 2023-2024 season of AFC Cup, according to the Asian Football Confederation.
The 2022 Myanmar National League champion Shan United will compete in the group stage and the first runners-up Yangon United will battle in the pre-qualification stage.
Yangon United will face Brunei Club Kazuka in the pre-qualification stage.
If the Yangon team can pass this stage, they will have to play away match against the Indonesian club Makassar in the qualifying play-off stage.
Myanmar clubs will take part in the ASEAN zone, which will be divided into three groups, with 12 contending teams.
Drawing-lots ceremony for the AFC Cup competition will be held on 24 August, and Shan United team is participating in Pot-3 with Malaysian and the Philippines clubs in line with the sedan specification.
The qualifiers will be held in August, and the ASEAN zone group matches will be played at home and away system from September to December. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
