Over 4,000 runners join Mini Marathon Event to mark 76th Independence Day

With the supervision of Yangon Region Government, a Mini Marathon Event was held in front of the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium-I in Yangon yesterday to commemorate the 76th Anniversary Independence Day. The event was launched by Yangon Region Minister U Soe Thein by firing a gun.
The 20-kilometre Marathon event for Under-18 men’s and women’s athletes was started in front of the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium-I to Waizayanta Road to Parami Kyaukyaydwin of North Okkalapa and back to the starting point.
Meanwhile, the 10-kilometre Marathon event for Under-18 men’s and women’s athletes was started in front of the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium-I to Waizayanta Road to Parami Junction and back to the starting point.
Next, the three-kilometre Marathon event for Under-12 men’s and women’s athletes was started in front of the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium-I to Waizayanta Road to Parami Junction and back to the starting point.
The winners, first-runners up and second-runners up grabbed the medal plus cash awards. The event finishers also got cash awards. Over 4,000 runners participate in the event. — Bala Soe/KZL
