China’s YNPAFFC donates 40 sets of solar-power streetlights to Thakayta Township

According to reports, the Yunnan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (YNPAFFC) donated 40 sets of solar-powered streetlights and lamp-posts for Thakayta Township, Yangon.
The aim of the donation was to enhance safety and convenience for residents of Thakayta Township at night, reduce electricity bills, and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
The donation ceremony took place on 21 February at the U-Energy (UREC) office in Thakayta Township. Attendees included the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, officials from Yunnan Province, the Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Community Party of China and Yunnan Province Governor, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, and members of the Yunnan Province delegation.
Solar-powered streetlights and lamp-posts will be installed in areas of Thakayta Township that lack access to electricity. — TWA/TKO
