According to group member senior actress Academy Nwe Nwe San, Khine Lay Swe, another senior actress, donated K3 million to the Group of Actress Mothers as a Myanmar New Year donation. The donation ceremony took place at the donor’s house on 1 April.
Senior actress Khin Lay Swe invited members of the Group of Actress Mothers to her home in Bahan township, where the group performed Thingyan songs to welcome the Myanmar New Year.
Academy Nwe Nwe San stated, “Daw Khin Lay Swe is in her 90s, and we’re also in our 80s. Usually, we perform Thingyan songs and dances and receive donations during these days. Now, Daw Khin Lay Swe invited us and donated K3 million to us. We performed Thingyan songs and dances for her. Despite having a knee problem, she still wants to join in singing and dancing. She was also a member of our group when she was able to dance.”
The group consists of about 15 members, led by Academy Nwe Nwe San, Ma Too, Si Si Thein, Htay Htay Sein, and other senior artistes. — ASH/TRKM
