75th Pa-O National Day, Tabaung festival to be held

The 75th anniversary of Pa-O National Day will be celebrated alongside the traditional Tabaung festival in areas predominantly inhabited by the Pa-O ethnic people, according to U Khun Sai Pha, Chair of the Pa-O Ethnic Literature and Culture Association of Shan State (South).
“The festivities will take place on 24 March, coinciding with the full moon day of Tabaung, in the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone and townships across Shan State (South),” explained U Khun Sai Pha. “The Tabaung festival will also be celebrated with offerings at pagodas within each township”. — ASH/MKKS
