Fisheries Dept seeks bids for 57 confiscated fishing vessels

Fifty-seven confiscated fishing vessels detained by the Fisheries Department will be sold by tender in their current condition, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
Of 57 vessels, seven are in Kawthoung district, five in Bokpyin district, 15 in Myeik district, five in Dawei district, 23 are in Pyapon district, and two in Yangon Region. Observation can be made by making contact with respective fisheries departments.
Bidders will have to purchase a payment order cheque at Myanma Economic Bank in Nay Pyi Taw as earnest money for each vessel and submit it to the tender working committee by 26 March before the bid, the tender accepting and scrutinizing working committee and tender working committee said in the announcement.
“I’ve bought the application form. I’m interested in it. This plan will benefit the country’s revenue as well as businesspeople,” said a businessperson who has prepared to apply for the tender. Application forms and rules are available at K5,000 each at the head office of the Fisheries Department in Nay Pyi Taw, Pannita Street, from 8 to 25 March, during office hours. — Thit Taw/ZS/ED
