Application forms available for new Thukha Dagon public rental housing units

The application forms for rental permits for the 400 newly completed rooms at the Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region, will be available for purchase starting on 25 March. Applications must be submitted by 30 April, as per the Department of Urban and Housing Development (DUHD-YGN).
Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing is situated at the junction of No. 2 Highway in Dagon Myothit (South) Township and the Yangon Ring Road. These rental accommodations are intended for the general public, retired civil servants, and current civil servants encountering difficulties in finding housing within Yangon Region.
Prospective tenants from the public and retired personnel can obtain application forms from the township administration offices where they currently reside starting on 25 March. They should complete the required information on the forms and submit them to those offices.
Civil servants currently serving in Yangon Region can obtain application forms from the DUHD-YGN director’s office. They must submit the forms along with letters from their departmental heads recommending their need for accommodation.
“Those who were unsuccessful in previous lotteries will have a chance to participate in the lottery without needing to submit new applications,” stated a resident of Thingangyun Township who was facing housing difficulties.
It is important to note that applications for apartments in the third phase of Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing must be submitted by 30 April. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. For further information, enquiries can be made on the website www.yangon.gov.mm and the Facebook page of DUHD-YGN or by contacting the department via the provided phone numbers, as stated by the Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing Leasing and Disciplinary Committee.
A total of 1,728 rooms across 108 building were allocated through lottery on 13 and 14 November 2023. The remaining 1,376 rooms across 86 buildings will be allocated in subsequent batches. — MT/TWA/TMT
