ID record books issued by the Immigration and Population Department to the whole nation are being transformed into the computerization process, said Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the meeting to compile voter list for the election at the SAC Chairman Office yesterday afternoon.
In his address, the Vice-Senior General said: As a basic factor, the data and statistics must be accurate to hold a free and fair in 2023, and election commissions at different levels and immigration and population departments need to join hands in scrutinizing all houses whether everybody and every household have citizenship scrutiny card and household registration Form-66/6. Upon completing such a process, immigration Form 66/6 will be inserted into the computer. After that, he noted that combined teams in townships will scrutinize whether the data on the ground will be checked before 2023 when the election is earmarked.
The Vice-Senior General stressed that as every citizen has a chance to hold a single citizenship scrutiny card legally, illegal citizenship scrutiny cards must be cancelled, Likewise, he stressed the need to scrutinize Form-66/6 for ensuring clean, free and fair voting.
The Vice-Senior General underscored that the Ministry of Immigration and Population’s statistics mentioned that it had issued IDs to more than 51 million people, including dead persons, those who went abroad for good, lost IDs, damaged IDs, and those holding two or three IDs. So far, the relevant ministry has enlisted more than 27 million ID holders under computerization, and there remain more than 24 million people. The remaining data must be inserted into the computer in time.
The Vice-Senior General instructed the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and region and state chief ministers to manage computerized works in their respective areas within two months. All must strive for putting data of regions and states into the sever of the Ministry of Immigration and Population as quickly as possible. He stressed the need for all relevant organizations to know and follow election data and provisions to hold a free and fair election in 2023.
Meeting participants discussed provisions for the election, work process in various sectors to ensure voter lists accuracy, and linkages for working groups to put the data in computerization. The Vice-Senior General gave the necessary instructions.
