Bagan Archaeological Museum pockets nearly K 40 mln in entrance fees in nine months

The Archaeological Museum (Bagan) earned over K 38.5 million from local and foreign visitors from April to December last year, according to the Archaeological and National Museum Department (Bagan Branch).

The museum received entrance fees of K 35,611,000 from 62,862 local visitors, K 2,915,000 from 460 foreign visitors, and a total of K 38,526,000 from 63,322 locals and foreigners.

“Yangon residents top the list of local visitors. Out of foreigners, Thais are the most numerous, followed by Russians, Chinese, Singaporeans and Americans,” said an official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.

The Archaeological Museum (Bagan) is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm every day except Sundays and public holidays.
The entrance fee is K 10,000 for a foreigner and K 1000 for a local.

Free entry is given to to children under 10, students, monks, senior nuns and junior nuns.
