Bago Region attracts FDI US$0.898M, creating 200 local jobs in Dec

The Bago Region receives US$ 0.898 million worth of foreign investment that can create about 200 local job opportunities in December, according to U Ko Ko Latt, director of the Bago Region Directorate of Investment and Company Administration.
The Bago Region Investment Committee permitted one new foreign investment company, two foreign investment companies for expansions, and three companies to extend the construction period at the committee meeting 8/2023 held on 29 December. The factories will be allowed only in the industrial zone of Bago Region and it will also prioritize the CMP business and manufacturing factories that produce consumer goods using domestic raw materials as export substitute products.
Moreover, safe food products will be produced in the region and industries that are not harmful to humans, animals, and the environment are also approved to operate following the rules and regulations of the FDA.
From 1 February 2021 to December 2023, the committee permitted $198.015 million and K75,456.275 million worth of foreign and Myanmar citizens’ investments that created 11,481 local job opportunities. — ASH/KTZH
