CBM Governor attends 58th SEACEN Governors’ Conference/High-Level Seminar, 42nd SEACEN Board of Governors Meeting

Central Bank of Myanmar Governor Daw Than Than Swe takes part in the 68th SEACEN Governor’s Conference/ High-level Seminar and the 42nd SEACEN BOG Meeting on 5 December in Cambodia.

Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe attended the 58th SEACEN Governors’ Conference/High-Level Seminar and 42nd SEACEN Board of Governors-BOG Meeting jointly organized by The South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre and the National Bank of Cambodia on 5 December in Cambodia.
During the 58th SEACEN Governors’ Conference/High-Level Seminar, Governor Mr Chea Chanto of the National Bank of Cambodia and SEACEN Executive Director Dr Mangal Goswami made greeting speeches.
Then, European Central Bank-ECB Head Ms Christine Lagarde, Prof Dr Larry Summers of Harvard University, Deputy General Manager Dr Luiz Pereira da Silva of Bank for International Settlements-BIS and Managing Director Mr Ravi Menon of the Monetary Authority of Singapore discussed the topic “Current Policy Challenges”.
Moreover, Deputy Director Dr Sanjaya Panth of the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund reported on “The Global and Asia Economic Context” and Governor of Bank of Thailand Dr Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput, the Deputy Chief Executive of Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Mr Dody Waluyo and attendees exchanged views on the presentations.
Deputy Director Dr Fabio Natalucci of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of IMF clarified the “Transition Challenges and Scaling Up Climate Financing” and Governor of the Central Bank of the Philippines Dr Felipe Medalla and Head of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability Dr Ma Jun coordinated for the report.
During the 42nd SEACEN Board of Governors-BOG Meeting, Excutive Director of SEACEN Dr Mangal Goswami presented the implementation of strategic plans of SEACEN Centre in 2022, motions for 2023, the budget estimate for 2023, and the 19 Governors of Central Banks instructed the proper management procedures. — MNA
