Central Bank Governor meets non-banking companies, money changers regarding on-site findings, AML/CFT issues

The governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar met money changers, non-banking companies and organizations at the Central Bank of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon to focus on on-site findings and AML/CFT issues.
The meeting was attended by the governor, deputy governors, permanent secretary and directors-general of the Central Bank of Myanmar, the director-general of the Bureau of Special Investigation and officials from money changers and non-banking companies and organizations.
Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe said that money changer-licensed companies needed to attend training courses on the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism opened by the Central Bank of Myanmar so that they could understand the provisions of the anti-money laundering law and counter-terrorism law. She also requested money changer licensed companies to inform authorities of the instigation that could lead to instability of the foreign exchange market.
Afterwards, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar and the director-general of the Bureau of Special Investigation said that it is necessary to follow the AML/CFT law and regulations and to send in the required audit reports without fail. — MNA/MKKS
