Ceremony for convoying 3rd, 5th sections of altar for Bhumi Phassa Mudra sitting Buddha image held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Buddha statues and pieces of the altar for Bhumi Phassa Mudra sitting Buddha image to be built in Nay Pyi Taw are being carried from See Mee Khon jetty to Nay Pyi Taw by Modular Trailer.The 3rd and 5th sections of the altar were conveyed for public obeisance from See Mee Khon jetty on 23 January for the 3rd time and arrived at the designed place yesterday afternoon.

Dekkhinathiri Sangha Nayaka Chairman Nyaung Kone Sayadaw Baddanta Pandita and other venerable monks attended the ceremony for conveying the 3rd and 5th sections of the altar of Bhumi Phassa Mudra sitting Buddha image and Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Kyaw Swar Lin, Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services office (Army) and other invited guests attended the ceremony.

First, the Sayadaws led by Nyaung Kone Sayadaw opened the ceremony by reciting Namo Tassa 3 times and then, the donors and guests recited Buddha sermons and paid obeisance.

Then, Township Sangha Nayaka Chairman Sayadaw, Sayadaw Badhanta Khema Nanda of Yan Aung Myay Tawra Myo Taw Wun Monastery of Dekkhinathiri township, military officials and donors sprinkled the incense spray to 3rd and 5th sections of the altar of Bhumi Phassa Mudra sitting Buddha image.

Then, the parts of the altar were carried to the designated place.

The weights of the 3rd and 5th sections of the altar were 477 tonnes, respectively, and the remaining parts will be carried as planned.—MNA
