It is reported that in Chaungtha town, Pathein district of Ayeyawady Region, there were a lot of local and foreign visitors who welcomed the New Year at the Chaungtha Beach and relaxed at the same time and it was more than normal days.

As tourism has developed, there are 40 hotels and guesthouses that are running with the licences of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism at Chaungtha Beach and Shwethaungyan Beach.
