The second Cherry Blossom Festival 2023 will be held in the rows of cherry trees at the Loimwe hill resort in Kengtung township, eastern Shan State for five days from 19 to 23 January.
The purpose of the festival was to accelerate tourism development in the Loimwe area and preserve cherry trees, it is learnt.
At the festival, Shan, Lahu, “Wa” and Akha ethnic cultural troupes will perform traditional dances and regional products and traditional foods and drinks will be displayed and sold. — TWA/MKKS
