Coop Dept allows farmers to buy Agri machinery with 30% down payment

Farmers in regions/states including Nay Pyi Taw can purchase the agricultural machinery by paying 30 per cent of the total cost of the machines at the offices of the Cooperative Department.
The department receives permission to distribute 119 tractors and power tillers out of ten types of machinery using the State budget for the 2022-2023FY.
Farmers can buy the agricultural machinery in instalment and the government will bear 50 per cent of the costs and cooperative member farmers will have to pay the remaining 50 per cent by instant payment or 30 per cent of the down payment.
It aims to use the machinery widely to grow crops in time due to fewer numbers of farmers and climate change.
It has permitted to allocate 75 machines to ideal villages in nine regions/states including Nay Pyi Taw under Union Budget and 44 machines to Kachin, Shan and Chin states including Ayeyawady Region under the region/state budget.
Currently, the department has sold 99 machines and those who are interested to buy can contact the department’s offices. A total of K330 billion out of the K400 billion State Economic Promotion Fund. It allocated K170 billion to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, K60 billion to the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, K10 billion respectively to Kayah, Chin and Rakhine states for Myaseinyaung projects, K8 billion each to Kachin, Kayin states, Taninthayi region, Mon and Shan states and K5 billion each to Naga, Danu, Pa-O, Palaung, Kokang Self-Administered Zones and Wa Self-Administered Division. — TWA/GNLM
