The coordination meeting on the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 among relevant ministries of three ASEAN Community Pillars in progress on 5 October in Nay Pyi Taw.

A coordination meeting on the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 among relevant ministries of three ASEAN Political-Security Community Pillars, ASEAN Economic Community Pillar and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Pillar was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on 5 October 2023. The coordination meeting was led by U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and attended by Dr Wah Wah Maung, Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Directors-General and high-ranking officials from respective ministries.
In his opening remarks, U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, expressed his satisfaction with the finalization of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. He encouraged the relevant Ministries to continue their cooperation in line with their respective national plans in order to achieve national interest through regional cooperation. In addition, the Deputy Minister discussed the future directions and prospects for Myanmar to be able to effectively coordinate in ASEAN during 2024 and then encouraged the participants to exchange their views in an open and candid manner.
Then, Dr Wah Wah Maung, Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, and Eminent Person (EP) of Myanmar, briefed the meeting on the completion of drafting the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 under the theme of “Resilient, Dynamic, and People-Centred”. She stressed the need to formulate the attendant documents/ strategic plans of the ASEAN Vision in line with national action plans and encouraged the Ministries and relevant agencies under the three ASEAN Community Pillars to continue close cooperation and coordination.
Afterwards, representatives from the respective Ministries exchanged their views on the contributions and cooperation of Myanmar as an ASEAN Member State, relevant programmes and activities which are carried out under each pillar, and the future of ASEAN. Representatives from 10 Ministries under three ASEAN Community Pillars attended the coordination meeting. — MNA
