The government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar conferred Sasana Nuggaha religious titles on layperson as recognized their contributions to promotion, propagation and purification of the Sasana and existence of the Buddhism for more than 5,000 years of Sasana era.
To be able to flourish the Buddhism, members of the Sangha are obligated to discharge Sasana duties as learning and lecturing Buddhist literature, delivering the preaching of the Lord Buddha and taking meditation. In fact, well-wishers do not have the power to hamper their generous wills of making donations. Depending on their options, well-wishers may donate alms to members of the Sangha as well as nuns or monasteries and nunneries or fulfil requirements of some significant venues such as homes for the aged, orphanages, schools, hospitals, needy people and so on.
In the religious affairs, contributions of well-wishers are reliable for flourishing of the Buddhism. As such, the government recognizes their activities by conferring the Sasana Nuggaha titles on those donors.
