DDM, UNOCHA emphasize cooperation in data on humanitarian aid

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win met with Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) Mr Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, at the meeting in the ministry’s meeting hall yesterday afternoon.
First, the attendees discussed UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Under Secretary General Mr Martin Griffiths’s upcoming trip to Myanmar, emphasizing its significance. Another crucial matter on the agenda was the renewal of the Letter of Agreement (LoA) between the Department of Disaster Management and UNOCHA, the meeting also delved into domestic concerns, including issues related to entry visas and domestic travel.
The meeting also addressed the issue of association registration for international organizations, along with the figures published by the State regarding the cooperation between the Ministry and UNOCHA, as well as humanitarian statistics. During the meeting, there was a friendly and open exchange of views regarding how to cooperate effectively and accurately reflect the real situation on the ground. — MNA/KZW
