Death toll of Pwint Nay Chi theatrical troupe vehicle accident reaches 11

On the night of October 6, the death toll reached 11 people in the car accident of the Pwint Nay Chi theatrical troupe on the Myawady-Kawkareik Asia Highway, Kayin State, according to the Mon State Police Force.
The accident left five people dead and 23 injured at the scene in the downhill of Khunchangwe on the Myawady-Kawkareik Asia Highway at about 4 pm on 5 October. It is known that the truck was unable to control its speed and slipped through the road.
Mon State Police Force stated there were nine men and two women – 11 in total — dead to date. Dead bodies were transported to the Painnegon cemetery and the injured were sent to the Mawlamyine hospital from the Myawady hospital for further treatment by welfare associations. — TWA/GNLM
