Drawing-lots event for World Cup Qualifiers of Myanmar to kick-start on 27 July

A drawing-lots ceremony for the World Cup Qualifiers of team Myanmar will be convened on 27 July according to FIFA.
Myanmar, Indonesia, China Taipei, Maldives, Yemen, Afghanistan, Singapore, Nepal and Cambodia are falling in Pot 1 while Macao, Mongolia, Bhutan, Laos, Bangladesh, Brunei, Timor, Pakistan and North Mariana Island are placed in Pot 2.
The Asian Zone Qualifiers for the World Cup will be organized by the Asian Football Confederation and will be divided into stages.
According to the Asian Football Confederation, the lowest-ranked 18 teams released for July will play from the first round, while the nine winners will qualify for the second round qualifiers.
The 27 teams that have the opportunity to play directly in the second-round qualifiers and the nine teams that participated in the first round totalling 36 will be divided into nine groups of four teams.
The Asian Football Confederation will hold the first and second rounds of the Asian Zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers together with the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, and only the third round qualifiers will be held separately.
The first-round qualifiers will be held on 12 October while the second round will be on 17 October. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
