Drugs worth K2.25 bln seized in Thazi

About K2.25 billion worth of narcotic drugs were seized in Thazi Township, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotic Police Force inspected a 12-wheel vehicle heading to Thazi from Taunggyi driven by Wai Phyo Kyaw (aka) Ah Nge Lay, 32, with San Win, 31, onboard and a six-wheel Fuso vehicle driven by Wunna Kyaw (aka) Dwe Nge, 26, at Kywe Tat Sone checkpoint on Taunggyi-Thazi road, Thazi Township, Mandalay Region on 29 January at 2 pm.
Then, the team found 700,000 stimulant tablets on a 12-wheel vehicle and 800,000 stimulant tablets on a six-wheel Fuso vehicle worth K2.25 million.
According to the investigation, the seized stimulant pills were transported from Shan State (South) to the Mandalay region. The police took legal action against three of them and further investigation is being conducted to expose other perpetrators involved in the cases. — MNA
