Efforts made to boost tourism industry

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism focuses on development of tourism industry with creation of new tourist destinations.

The “Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol” website has launched to allow hotels and tourism services to apply it for national certification online as a safe service provider, said Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung at a coordination meeting yesterday.
The Union Minister continued that the entrepreneurs serving in seven hotels and tourism services related industries should inform to apply for the national certificates and other activities.
The heads of region/state branches also need to implement the instructions made by the Chairman of National Tourism Development Central Committee during 1st coordination meeting as soon as possible and submit the reports regarding the completed work plans.
Then, directors-general and heads of region/state branches including Nay Pyi Taw Council who attended the meeting online presented their current work plans.
The Union Minister instructed the meeting participants to create new tourist destinations and significant events in addition to traditional festivals and make efforts to promote the quality of local foodstuffs for the Myanmar Food Show and cooperation works of employees to develop the tourism industry based on their experience, knowledge and skills.—MNA
